UPDATE: North Dixie was reopened at 5:47 p.m.
UPDATE: Dixie remains closed as of 5:10 p.m. BocaNewsNow.com has learned that a jeep struck a person on a motor scooter. The person on the scooter died at the scene — before paramedics arrived which was just moments after calls were made to 911.
The Boca Raton Police Department confirms one fatality. The investigation is under way. We will update our reporting once we receive more information from Boca Raton PD. There is no information regarding the driver of the Jeep, or who may have been responsible for the crash.

The crash was first reported around 1:45. The incident is in the area between NE 20th and NE 23 rd Street.
