BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A hit and run crash on Powerline Road left a man dead and police seeking tips. The fatal crash happened early Tuesday on Powerline in Pompano Beach. The man has not yet been identified by investigators. The Broward Sheriff’s Office issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com:
>> According to detectives, at approximately 12:53 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a traffic crash with injuries in the 600 block of North Powerline Road in Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded.
The preliminary investigation revealed that an adult male pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle in the southbound lanes of North Powerline Road, north of Northwest Sixth Street. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, and paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene.
