Alcohol May Be A Factor. Dixie Highway Closed For Hours.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A two car crash on Dixie Highway near Glades Road Friday night left three people seriously injured. Sources say alcohol may be a factor in the wreck.
Boca Raton Fire Rescue was called to the area of Dixie Highway, just south of Glades Road, around 8:35 p.m. Friday. That’s where they found two vehicles facing in opposite directions. Police arrived moments later and closed all northbound and southbound lanes. At least one person had to be extricated from a heavily damaged vehicle.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that two of the victims in one car were in their 70s or 80s. Another person — in a second vehicle — was believed to be much younger. That person sustained critical injuries. All three victims were transported to Delray Medical Center, the area’s trauma center.
Sources say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, but did not elaborate. Boca Raton Police, however, did not log any overnight DUI arrests that had been processed as of 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Check back for updates.
