>> Palm Beach County has been recognized with 28 Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for its innovative and effective government programs that improve services for residents. Each year, NACo honors counties across the country for programs that modernize government, promote efficiency, and serve local communities in impactful ways. Palm Beach County’s 28 awards span a wide range of categories, including health and human services, technology, criminal justice and civic engagement. The 2025 NACo Annual Conference brought together county leaders from across the nation to discuss shared challenges, explore policy solutions, and celebrate achievements in local government. The event served as a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices, as well as strengthening advocacy for counties at the federal level.
The National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO), an affiliate of NACo with members from more than three thousand counties, parishes and boroughs across the United States, hosts its annual Awards of Excellence to recognize excellence in public information and community outreach efforts by local governments in a variety of categories. NACIO held its Awards of Excellence ceremony in conjunction with the NACo conference and Palm Beach County Public Affairs and Parks & Recreation received seven awards, including a Best of Show award for the PBC Parks & Recreation Department for their Non-verbal Communication Sheets attached. The Palm Beach County Information Systems Services Department came in 10th this year in the 2025 Digital Counties Survey nationwide.
The Center for Digital Government (CDG) and Government Technology magazine, in partnership with NACo, recognizes counties that are leading the way in using technology to improve public services, strengthen cybersecurity, modernize operations, and deliver more responsive, transparent government. Each year, counties are evaluated on their ability to align IT innovation with strategic priorities and real-world impact.
“We’re incredibly proud to be recognized by NACo for our commitment to serving the residents of Palm Beach County,” said Interim County Administrator Todd J. Bonlarron. “These awards reflect the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our staff to deliver programs that make a real difference.” <<
