TRAGEDY: Family Member Moves Car, Kills 87 Year Old

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man is dead after the family member he was riding with apparently moved their vehicle which the victim thought was parked in a parking spot.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that Edward Drumm, 87, of Coco Plum Boulevard had exited a 2021 Chevy SUV and was leaning against it in the parking lot of the Wawa at 6049 South Military Trail in Lake Worth on August 8th. As Edward leaned against the vehicle, the driver “accelerated the vehicle forward, which caused Edward Drumm to lose his balance and fall to the pavement.”
Edward Drumm, according to police, struck his head and body on the ground which caused serious injuries. He was treated by emergency medical personnel and rushed to Delray Medical Center where was treated for nearly a week before dying on August 14th. His death was just reported Wednesday by PBSO.
There is no indication in the police report that there is any investigation underway for wrongdoing. While Edward Drumm lived in Boca Raton, the driver — a relative — lives in Lake Worth.
