Palm Beach County Fire Rescue is responding to multiple reports of residential and commercial fires as of 1:30 p.m. — although these reports are more likely than not automatic alarm activations instead of actual fires that are burning.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for much of the area through at least 1:45 p.m., although we expect that warning to be extended.
...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northern Broward and
southeastern Palm Beach Counties through 145 PM EDT...
At 110 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking
a strong thunderstorm near Greenacres, or near Wellington, moving
east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
