BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you live in the City of Boca Raton, flood insurance may be available to you at a discount. The City of Boca Raton issued this advisory Friday afternoon:
>> The City of Boca Raton takes part in the National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS), a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management activities that help reduce flood risk.
Through recently increased floodplain management activities, the City’s improved CRS Classification now qualifies City residents for a larger discount on their flood insurance premiums through their provider, starting October 2025. The discount increased from 15% to 25% for residents in all flood zones with qualifying NFIP policies.
**Please contact your flood insurance provider to see when the savings will be reflected in your policy.**
This discount is available to City of Boca Raton residents only. Although you may have a Boca Raton address, it does not necessarily mean that you live within City limits. <<
If you live in the blue in the map, above, you live in the City of Boca Raton. If you do not live in the “blue” area, you do NOT live in Boca Raton. Your address may be “Boca Raton,” but that’s more marketing than reality. You live in unincorporated Palm Beach County and do not qualify for City of Boca Raton rates or services.
