PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) —A 19-year-old woman was killed Monday evening after her 2025 Tesla Model S crashed and caught fire on U.S. Highway 27 South. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says the driver is Paris Huggins. The incident occurred around 5:00 PM near mile marker 62.
According to PBSO, Huggins was traveling southbound when her vehicle veered off the road for reasons that are still under investigation. After leaving the highway, the Tesla traveled across a large grassy area before striking a concrete utility pole head-on. The force of the initial impact caused the vehicle to rotate violently and roll over several times.
The car’s momentum carried it into a second wooden utility pole, causing it to spin again before coming to a final stop. Shortly after, the vehicle became engulfed in flames. Passing motorists were able to pull Huggins from the wreck, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue personnel.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash.
