UPDATE: ”Boca Raton Fire Rescue provided this statement to BocaNewsNow.com: Boca Raton dispatch received a call for a structure fire called in by the person who was in the home possibly caused by a candle. A total of 11 units responded to the fire to find smoke coming from one of the back rooms. Our members made an interior attack and quickly put out the flames located on the upper floors of the residence.

The cause, although first reported as a possible candle, is still under investigation. Crews cleared the call around 4pm. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.”

UPDATE 4 p.m. — The scene is in the process of being cleared. Expect East Camino Real to reopen shortly.

East Camino Real is closed at Federal Highway as Boca Raton Fire Rescue battles what is described as a house fire. There are no immediate reports of injuries. Flames were apparently seen as firefighters arrived on the scene.

This is the second major fire for City of Boca Raton firefighters today. An earlier fire at Dixie Highway near Spanish River Boulevard required a significant response Wednesday morning.
