UPDATE January 19, 2026: Mr. Gianni claims that the case was not prosecuted. However, the file has been sealed, so we have no way of seeing whether or not this is accurate, whether a plea deal led to the closure, or if prosecutors determined there was no evidence to proceed. BOCA RATON, Fla. – A Delray Beach man was arrested Saturday after authorities said he stole over $120 worth of “Skims” underwear and socks from Nordstrom in Boca Raton, where he was allegedly found with wire cutters in his pocket. Vincent F. Gianni, 57, of Blue Tanzanite Way, was taken into custody outside the store at 5820 W. Glades Rd. on charges of petit retail theft and possessing an anti-shoplifting countermeasure device, according to a Boca Raton Police Department report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com.
The incident began around 1:12 p.m. when a Loss Prevention Officer at Nordstrom allegedly observed Gianni on store surveillance cameras. According to the arrest report, Gianni selected a pair of Skims underwear, removed them from the hanger, and concealed them inside a Nordstrom shopping bag he was carrying. He then allegedly entered a second-floor bathroom where the tags were removed and left behind. He was also seen on the first floor taking a pair of socks and repeating the process in a different bathroom. We do not know the color, size, or fit of the Skims.
After Gianni left the store, passing all points of sale without trying to pay for the merchandise valued at $120.99, loss prevention staff approached and detained him. During a pat-down, an associate reported finding a pair of black metal wire cutters with red handles in Gianni’s front pocket. The report notes that Gianni remained cooperative throughout the encounter.

Gianni was arrested by the Boca Raton Police Department just after 2:15 p.m. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $6,000 bond — significantly more than $120 worth of underwear.
