BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A West Boca Raton woman was arrested on felony charges Friday night after her boyfriend alleged she bit him, hit him with an object, and threw a kitchen knife at him during a domestic dispute. Yvette Naranjo, 57, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and simple domestic battery.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the home on Wind Drift Lane at approximately 7:30 p.m. for a domestic battery call. Upon arrival, deputies met the caller outside the home. The man, who appeared “visibly intoxicated,” claimed Naranjo had thrown items, destroyed the yard, and bit him, causing a “bleeding abrasion” on his right hand. He also stated she struck him in the back of the head with an unknown object and threw a kitchen knife at him from the front door, hitting the back of his foot. Deputies noted visible injuries on the man’s hand and head and observed a knife “laying near the front door entrance”.

Officers knocked on the home’s garage door but received no answer. After hearing “moaning and mumbling” from a locked bedroom, they entered the residence to check on Naranjo’s welfare. According to the report, deputies found Naranjo lying in the shower “without any pants or undergarments and wearing a soaking wet shirt”. She was also “visibly intoxicated” and was assisted out of the shower by the deputies before being detained.

After being read her Miranda rights, Naranjo denied any altercation. She told deputies she “was never involved in a struggle with her boyfriend and was getting ready for bed”. When pressed with the specific allegations, Naranjo stated she “never got into a fight and had come back from dinner with her friends and was going to bed”. Based on the victim’s statements, his injuries, and the knife, deputies determined there was probable cause for her arrest. She was transported to the county jail.
