BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boynton Beach resident Nicholas Gary Casaceli is charged with attempted first-degree murder following a brutal assault on Tuesday. Casaceli, 44, was arrested after allegedly beating a family member so severely that the bleeding victim was declared a “trauma alert” and transported to Delray Medical Center.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Boynton Beach Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Princess Donna Court East. The caller said that Nicholas Casaceli had “beat him up,” taken his pistol and car keys from his pocket by force, and then fled the residence in the victim’s vehicle. Officers arrived to find the elderly victim bleeding heavily from his face and the back of his head, with severe bruising, multiple lacerations, and his left eye nearly swollen shut.

Investigators noted a baseball bat with “apparent blood” on it was visible next to the couch inside the home. A witness, who rents a room at the residence, told police he heard a verbal argument between Casaceli and the victim turn physical. The witness stated he then heard the word “gun,” which caused him to fear for his safety and exit his bedroom through a window. When he returned moments later, he saw the victim’s white Jeep was missing from the driveway and helped the injured victim call 911.

The victim was transported by Boynton Beach Fire Rescue to Delray Medical Center as a “trauma alert”. Police say he sustained “several broken bones in the face, as well as two fractured ribs”. He was subsequently admitted to the hospital due to the extent of his injuries.

Nicholas Casaceli was located and arrested. He is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The report notes the firearm charge stems from Casaceli having a 2023 felony conviction in North Carolina.
