BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man “sucker punched” another in a supermarket in North Broward County on Wednesday — knocking that man to the ground. The incident was caught on camera. View the video, below. The Broward Sheriff’s Office issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com:

>> On Wednesday afternoon, Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit detectives arrested the suspect in a violent sucker punch case that left the victim with permanent injuries. 

According to detectives, tips from media coverage of the incident relayed to Broward County Crime Stoppers led them to the suspect, Dandrea Johnson. Detectives arrested Johnson on a charge of felony battery with great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement. Following his arrest, Johnson was transported to the Broward County Main Jail.

The investigation revealed that shortly after 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 11, BSO deputies responded to the Aldi grocery store at 3301 North State Road 7 in response to a battery. The investigation revealed that Johnson, seen above in the surveillance images and the accompanying video, argued with the victim inside the store. At some point, the suspect went outside the store and waited for the victim. The video shows that seconds after the victim left the store with his dog, the victim sucker punched him. The victim fell backwards and hit his head, sustaining significant and serious injuries. <<
