BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The City of Boca Raton Sunday night strongly suggested that residents stay off of streets as torrential rains flooded area throughways. Boca Raton Fire Rescue has responded to more than 15 “rescue” calls Sunday night — people trapped in cars, people who think they are trapped in cars, and people suffering from panic attacks.
We have received reports of water in some places of east Boca rising to as high as 3.5 feet. Fire trucks had difficulty passing through some intersections. As many as 30 cars are stuck or abandoned in east Boca.
In Delray Beach, heavy rain is also leading to impassable roads. Rescuers In Delray are also busy dealing with stuck motorists, flood conditions in some places, and more. Among the flooding and rescue calls Sunday evening and Sunday night:
200 block of NW 15th Street in Boca Raton; 400 block of NW 10th Court in Boca Raton; 2100 block of North Federal Highway in Boca Raton; 3000 block of NW 2nd Avenue in Boca Raton; 100 block of South Ocean Boulevard in Boca Raton; 800 block of North Dixie Highway in Boca Raton; 2600 block of North Federal Highway in Boca Raton; Estrella Circle in Boca Raton; 500 block of West Camino Real in Boca Raton; 400 block of NW 7th Avenue in Boca Raton; Dixie and Glades in Boca Raton; and multiple locations across Delray Beach.
The National Weather Service issued a “flash flood advisory” which now continues until 12:15 a.m. It is possible the advisory will be extended.
If you don’t have to be out and about, don’t be out and about. Roads, especially in the eastern part of Palm Beach County, remain flooded as of 10:30 p.m.
