BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach woman was arrested in Boca Raton on drunk driving charges after police said she failed to stop for officers for at least 10 blocks. Linda Cavasini, 58, was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a breath test. The arrest took place around 11:00 p.m. on October 23 on North Federal Highway.
The incident began an hour earlier when police received a call from a woman worried her friend was intoxicated at the Cosmos nightclub and attempting to drive home, according to the arrest affidavit. An officer located Cavasini’s white Jaguar in a parking garage and reported seeing her walk with “poor balance.” Police said Cavasini saw the patrol car, turned around, and walked away. The officer was unable to find her again and left the area.
At approximately 10:42 p.m., a different Boca Raton officer reported observing the same white Jaguar traveling north on Federal Highway, “serving in and out of the lane.” The officer activated his lights and sirens, but the car allegedly continued driving, entering a turn lane but then proceeding straight through the intersection. The report states the vehicle continued for 10 blocks before finally stopping at 1900 N Federal Highway.

According to the report, officers noted Cavasini had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol. She allegedly told police she had “Two Champagnes” at dinner. Police said she agreed to field sobriety exercises but showed multiple signs of impairment, including swaying, using her arms for balance, and failing to follow instructions. After being arrested and transported to the police department, Cavasini refused to provide a breath sample. That leads to an automatic license suspension under Florida’s implied consent law. Her arraignment is set for November 24, 2025.
