A man is in custody following a south Palm Beach County double shooting that left one person dead.

LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office just announced an arrest in a double shooting last month that left one man dead and a woman injured in Lake Worth Beach. Detectives identified James Randell as the suspect in the October 25th homicide. BocaNewsNow.com has learned that Randell was arrested and charged on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

The investigation began after deputies responded to reports of a shooting at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, October 25. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Tropical Drive. When deputies arrived, they found two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The adult male victim was pronounced deceased on the scene, while the adult female victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives identified Randell as the suspect. He is now charged with First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Jail records for James Randell show he was booked into the Main Detention Center on October 27, 2025. He is currently being held without bond on the first-degree premeditated murder charge. A bond of $50,000 was set for the charge of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
