
LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 78-year-old West Palm Beach man lost his life Saturday evening following a hit-and-run collision in Lake Worth Beach. Investigators from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are now searching for the driver responsible for the fatal incident, which occurred shortly before 6 p.m.
According to a statement issued to BocaNewsNow.com, an unknown Honda Civic was traveling southbound on North Dixie Highway, approaching the intersection of 16th Avenue North. At the same time, Michael Carmen Brennan was attempting to cross North Dixie Highway from east to west. Investigators state that Brennan was not in a designated crosswalk and was not wearing reflective clothing when he was struck by the front left side of the vehicle.
Following the impact, the driver of the Honda Civic failed to stop or remain at the scene to provide information. Brennan was critically injured and transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead from his injuries at 6:40 p.m., less than an hour after the crash occurred.
The suspect vehicle is identified only as a Honda Civic, though the model year and license plate number remain unknown at this time. No arrests have been made, and charges are currently listed as pending as the investigation continues.
