BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — American Express apaprently wishes Boca Raton reisdent Carolina Frangioni did leave home without it — as the woman is now being sued for defaulting on nearly $60,000 in charges on her Platinum Card.

The complaint, just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, says Frangioni’s card is associated with “Modern Drummer Pub”.

According to the filing, American Express asserts that Frangioni opened the account and agreed to the terms of the Cardmember Agreement, which holds the cardholder liable for all charges incurred. The bank alleges that Frangioni used the card to obtain goods, services, or cash advances but breached the contract by failing to repay the balance. The complaint states that the total amount currently due is $59,315.14.

The lawsuit says that a statement showing the full balance was sent to Frangioni on July 18, 2025, and that she failed to object to the charges within a reasonable timeframe, essentially acknowledging the debt.

Exhibits attached to the lawsuit indicate the account has since been cancelled, with the entire balance listed as past due.  American Express is asking the court for a judgment of $59,315.14, along with the recovery of court costs.
