LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A bicyclist is fighting for his life in a local hospital following a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning in Lake Worth Beach. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is now asking for the public’s help to locate the driver of a pickup truck who fled the scene immediately after the collision.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:41 a.m. on December 10, 2025, in the 4100 block of Davis Road. According to investigators, the unidentified bicyclist was riding a Specialized Stump Jumper southbound on Davis Road while a white Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling north. As the two approached one another, the bicyclist reportedly rode into the northbound lane, directly into the path of the truck. The front of the pickup struck the front of the bicycle, causing the bike to overturn and ejecting the rider onto the roadway.

While the driver of the pickup truck initially stopped, investigators say they then sped away northbound on Davis Road without rendering aid or providing information. Witnesses or evidence at the scene describe the fleeing vehicle as a white 2006 or 2007 Chevy pickup truck. The driver remains unknown at this time.

The bicyclist was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition. Authorities have not yet been able to identify him. Anyone with information regarding the crash or the whereabouts of the white Chevy pickup is urged to contact Investigator Robert Stephan of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at 561-688-3400, referencing case number 25-124714.
