UPDATE: ANOTHER BRIGHTLINE INCIDENT. ONE DEAD.

UPDATE: 10:35 p.m. — All traffic lanes on all roads near the scene are now open.

UPDATE: 7:02 p.m. — Boca Raton PD now confirms that one driver is dead in a pickup truck after being struck by the Brightline Train. Expect the scene to be active through the evening while the body is removed and an investigation is conducted. Brightline is considered the deadliest train operation in the United States.

UPDATE: 6:40 p.m. — Southbound Dixie Highway lane are now open.

UPDATE: 5:55 p.m. — This IS a Brightline train.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A train on the FEC tracks — used by Brightline — slammed into a car around 5:35 p.m. Monday. Boca Raton Fire Rescue is on the scene. It’s unclear how many — if any — people are injured.

The scene is in the area of 1 SW 18th Street which is at the intersection of Dixie Highway and SW 18th. Expect major delays in the area for the next several hours. All Eastbound and Westbound lanes on SW 18th are closed. SB Dixie is also closed at 14th.

Train traffic on the rails is stopped as of 5:45 p.m. We’ll update as soon as we learn more.
