BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The City of Boca Raton has successfully maintained its status as one of the elite fire protection providers in the country. The city issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com:

>> The City of Boca Raton is proud to announce that Boca Raton Fire Rescue Services has once again achieved an Insurance Services Office (ISO) Class 1 Public Protection Classification – a distinction the department has held for many years. The highest rating awarded for fire protection in the United States, the renewed classification is effective March 1, 2026.

An ISO Class 1 rating places Boca Raton among a select group of communities nationwide recognized for exceptional fire suppression and emergency response capabilities. The designation follows a comprehensive evaluation of the City’s fire protection system, including staffing, training, emergency communications, equipment, water supply, and overall response performance.

“ISO Class 1 reflects the daily commitment, professionalism, and readiness of our entire department,” said Fire Chief John Treanor. “Our team consistently trains and prepares to deliver the highest level of service to the Boca Raton community.”

ISO’s Public Protection Classification (PPC) program is widely used by insurance companies as part of their underwriting and premium-setting process for residential and commercial properties. Strong ratings can help reduce insurance costs for property owners while providing assurance that a community’s fire protection system meets the highest national standards.

“This outstanding top-tier rating underscores Boca Raton’s strong investment in public safety and the exceptional work of our Fire Rescue professionals,” said Mayor Scott Singer. “Our residents and businesses benefit from knowing they are protected by one of the best fire rescue departments in the nation.”

In addition to potential insurance benefits, the ISO rating serves as a national benchmark that supports long-term planning and continuous improvement in fire protection and life safety services.

The City of Boca Raton congratulates Fire Chief Treanor, the command staff, and the entire Fire Rescue Services Department on this outstanding achievement and thanks them for their continued dedication and service to the community.<<
