The highest rating awarded for fire protection in the United States, the renewed classification is effective March 1, 2026.
An ISO Class 1 rating places Boca Raton among a select group of communities nationwide recognized for exceptional fire suppression and emergency response capabilities. The designation follows a comprehensive evaluation of the City’s fire protection system, including staffing, training, emergency communications, equipment, water supply, and overall response performance.

ISO’s Public Protection Classification (PPC) program is widely used by insurance companies as part of their underwriting and premium-setting process for residential and commercial properties.
