Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Arrests.

LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Texas man is facing multiple charges after being found unresponsive behind the wheel in a local school parking lot. Justin Tomas Rodriguez, 45, was discovered by a witness at Highland Elementary School last Sunday evening. According to investigators in a police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Rodriguez was found inside a vehicle that was still in reverse, and he failed to wake up even after a passerby repeatedly honked a horn and banged on the windows to get his attention.
Upon arrival, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies and fire rescue personnel found Rodriguez in a state they described as lethargic with pinpoint pupils and slurred speech. While he initially told deputies he was simply using the parking lot to turn around, he could not provide a justifiable reason for being on the fenced-in school property after hours. A subsequent search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a cigar filled with marijuana in the driver’s area and two small white capsules, suspected to be fentanyl, tucked into the driver-side door pocket.
Rodriguez allegedly had issues — and then refused to — complete a field sobriety test. While a breathalyzer test returned a 0.000 blood alcohol content, deputies wrote that his physical symptoms were consistent with controlled substance use.

Rodriguez was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, trespassing on school property, and a first-offense refusal to submit to testing. He remains held on bond. He lists an address in the 8000 block fo Albana Drive in Austin, Texas as his home address.
