Bagel Twins in Delray Beach was cited for health issues during two recent inspections.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Just days after being named in an injury lawsuit over an allegedly “defective” bagel that caused injury to a woman eating it, Bagel Twins (5130 Linton Boulevard) was cited for 20 health code violations. While warned, the restaurant was allowed to remain open.

JANUARY 21, 2026 INSPECTION

High Priority – Employee cracked raw shell eggs and then handled ready-to-eat food and/or clean equipment or utensils without washing hands. Observed employee crack raw shell eggs and then touch clean plate. Discussed with operator. Employee washed hands. Corrected On-Site Repeat Violation Admin Complaint.

High Priority – Live, small flying insects found Observed 1 small flying insects landing on wall at dining area. Observed 2 small flying insects at prep sink next to ware washing area. Observed 3 small flying insects under triple sink. Repeat Violation Warning.

High Priority – Raw animal food stored over/not properly separated from ready-to-eat food. Observed raw salmon stored over sliced tomatoes in sliding door cooler at front station. Operator stored raw salmon properly. Corrected On-Site Warning.

High Priority – Shell eggs not stored at an ambient air temperature of 45 degrees Fahrenheit or less. Observed raw shell eggs 75F. Per operator food not prepared or portioned today. Per operator food held out of temperature less than four hours. Introduced operator to TPHC. Corrective Action Taken Warning.

High Priority – Stop Sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse. Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Observed in Sliding door cooler ) (); roast (45F); butter chips (47F); cream cheese (48F) macaroni salad 45F, egg sandwich 46F. Per operator food not prepared or portioned today. See stop sale. High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Observed in Sliding door cooler ) (); roast (45F); butter chips (47F); cream cheese (48F) macaroni salad 45F, egg sandwich 46F. Per operator food not prepared or portioned today. See stop sale. Intermediate – Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime. Observed soda nozzles at wait anterior soiled with mold-like substance or slime. Warning.

Intermediate – Menu does not identify which items contain raw or undercooked animal foods covered by the consumer advisory. Observed raw salmon not identified on menu. Warning.

Intermediate – No soap provided at handwash sink. Observed no soap in ladies bathroom.

Intermediate – Ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared onsite and held more than 24 hours not properly date marked. Observed Soup and sausages not date marked in double door cooler in kitchen. Per operator food was prepared yesterday at 7:00 AM 25 hours has passed. Operator date marked 1/20/26 Corrected On-Site Warning.

Basic – Ceiling/ceiling tile shows damage or is in disrepair. Observed ceiling tile with a hole above ware washing area. Warning

Basic – Cutting board has cut marks and is no longer cleanable. Observed grooved cutting boards in kitchen. Warning.

Basic – In-use knife/knives stored in cracks between pieces of equipment. Observed knives stored between pieces of equipment at the flip top cooler. Warning.

Basic – Interior of oven/microwave has accumulation of black substance/grease/food debris. Observed soiled microwave with food debris. Warning.

Basic – Interior of refrigerator or freezer in disrepair/has exposed insulation. Observed insulation in disrepair of low top cooler at entrance of kitchen across from cook line. Warning.

Basic – Silverware/utensils dried with a towel/cloth. Observed employee drying dishes with a cloth after dishes have gone through dish machine. Discussed with operator. Employee re washed dishes. Warning.

Basic – Soiled dry wiping cloth in use. Observed multiple soiled wiping cloths stored on tables throughout restaurant. Warning.

Basic – Unwashed fruits/vegetables stored with ready-to-eat food. Observed avocados not washed stored with ready to eat food in flip top cooler at cook line. Warning.

Basic – Wet wiping cloths stored in detergent and sanitizer mixed together. Observed bleach and soap mixed together in sanitizer bucket near cook line. Warning.
