A new cold watch has been issued by the National Weather Service.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The National Weather Service late Thursday afternoon issued a new update for the pending exceptionally cold weather heading our way. We are publishing the advisory in its entirety:

>> URGENT – WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Miami FL 402 PM EST Thu Jan 29 2026… EXTREME COLD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING…

  • WHAT… Dangerously cold wind chills as low as the middle teens to around 20 degrees.
  • WHERE… Coastal Palm Beach County, Inland Palm Beach County, Metro Palm Beach County, Glades, and Hendry Counties.
  • WHEN… From Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
  • IMPACTS… Dangerously cold wind chills could lead to frostbite and hypothermia, even with limited exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.<<
