FLEEING SUSPECT SLAMS INTO CAR ON GLADES ROAD.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A suspect was held at gunpoint on the Diverging Diamond that runs over I-95 at Glades Road Friday morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Indiana Miranda responding to questions from BocaNewsNow.com, a Trooper was attempting to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle heading southbound on I-95 just north of Glades Road. The infraction: an expired registration.
“However,” said Lt. Miranda, “the suspect began to travel in a reckless manner prior to the Trooper activating his emergency lights. The suspect vehicle fled and exited at Glades Road. The suspect vehicle then ran a stead red light at the intersection and collided with a vehicle.”
The suspect was taken into custody by Florida Highway Patrol. Boca Raton PD was also on the scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Boca Raton Regional Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The Trooper was not injured.
