UPDATE 2 p.m. — Delray Beach Police just confirmed to BocaNewsNow.com that the victim in this shooting died. Here is the official update: “At 12:01 a.m., Delray Beach police received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 500-block of NW 5th Court. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male who had been shot inside of his home. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. Detectives are actively searching for the suspect. At this time, no arrests have been made.”

While we are awaiting official information from the Delray Beach Police Department, sources connected to the emergency response tell BocaNewsNow.com that one person was shot in the park area off of Barwick Road near Lake Ida Road in Delray Beach just after midnight.

Witnesses told police they heard mulitple shots fires. Police responded to the scene and found one person with a gunshot wound.

That person was rushed to Delray Medical Center. It was not immediately clear if anyone was taken into custody. Check back for updates.
