MANALAPAN, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Massachusetts man is facing multiple felony charges after a bank heist in Manalapan ended with him in handcuffs and a trail of fake IDs behind him. Brian Peter Boyer, 58, was arrested Friday afternoon after he allegedly tried to withdraw cash from the Truist Bank in Manalapan using a stolen identity. Police say Boyer walked into the Truist Bank at 278 South Ocean Boulevard and attempted to withdraw $1,900 from an account belonging to a 71-year-old Georgia man.

Boyer allegedly gave off weird vibes which led the bank teller to notice something wasn’t right with the transaction and began asking Boyer clarifying questions. Police say Boyer didn’t wait for answers; instead, he snatched approximately $1,900 in cash from the counter and bolted out the door. In his hurry to escape, Boyer allegedly left behind the fraudulent Georgia driver’s license and a Citibank card, both of which bore the victim’s name. It’s unclear why the cash was unattended on the counter.

Officers from the Manalapan Police Department rushed to the area and located Boyer near the intersection of East Ocean Avenue and South Atlantic Drive. Bank employees later positively identified Boyer as the man who had just run off with the cash. He is now facing a laundry list of charges, including identity theft, uttering a false instrument, forgery, and grand theft.

Boyer seemingly has a history of alleged criminal activity. Records show he has an active felony warrant for forgery out of Virginia which plans to extradite him. Investigators also discovered that Boyer has a history of using various driver’s licenses from states like New Jersey, North Carolina, and New Hampshire to evade detection. He’s being held on $20,000 bond.
