UPDATE March 14, 2026: We have now learned that these were two separate incidents that happened to occur in a short span of time. Matthew Uva was NOT RACING. He was, however, driving quite fast. Prosecutors dropped the charge in exchange for Matthew taking a one day class that focuses on the hazards of excessive speeding.

Anderson Galvez-Arreaga was accused of fleeing police in a separate incident. In addition to drug and other charges, he was determined to be in the United States illegally. ICE placed a detainer on him and he is expected to be turned over to immigration officials for deportation.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two men were arrested late Friday night following a high speed chase on I-95. The chase ended in Boynton Beach on Gateway Boulevard. There are no reports of injuries.

While we are awaiting specifics from Florida Highway Patrol on what appears to be a two car race, witnesses and jail records tell at least part of the story. We are expecting the arrest report later Saturday.

The two men are identified as Matthew Jakob UVA of the 14500 block of SW 148th Street in Miami. He is facing a charge of “moving traffic violation – operate vehicle exceeding speed limit PLUS 50 MPH.”
