PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday says detectives have arrested a man and charged him with the 2024 murder of a woman found on Lyons Road.
According to a statement issued by PBSO to BocaNewsNow.com, Linda Campitelli was found on the side of the road in the 6100 block of Lyons Road — that’s the Lake Worth area — around 10:20 p.m on October 28, 2024. Deputies located her outside her vehicle on the southbound shoulder.
Tuesday morning, an arrest warrant was obtained for Rene J. Perez, 38. He was taken into custody in Miami. He is now charged with first degree murder with a deadly weapon and tampering with physical evidence.
It was not immediately revealed how — or if — Perez knew Campitelli, or what detectives believe led to the homicide. He’s being held in the Palm Beach County Jail.
