Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies first responded to the 4700 block of Northeast First Terrace around 11:30 p.m. Friday, where they found an adult woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital as investigators began searching for the suspect, who lived with the victim but had already fled the scene.
The search lasted several hours until deputies spotted the suspect’s vehicle in Pompano Beach shortly before 3:30 a.m. When BSO units tried to pull the car over near East Copans Road and North Dixie Highway, the driver refused to stop. The short chase ended when the suspect crashed his vehicle into a fence and attempted to escape on foot. Deputies quickly caught up with him and took him into custody.
Upon searching the crashed vehicle, deputies discovered a teenage girl was inside, also suffering from stab wounds. Both the suspect and the teenager were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment. Authorities have since identified the man as 34-year-old Eric Senat, born February 17, 1992, and he now faces charges related to the violent spree. The BSO Special Victims and Crime Scene units are currently working to piece together the exact circumstances that led to the stabbings.
Due to the involvement of a minor, the Florida Department of Children and Families has been notified and is participating in the ongoing investigation. As of Saturday morning, officials have not released the current conditions of the three individuals involved.
