UPDATE Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 9:45 a.m. — The Palm Beach County School District provided to us the statement issued by the Eagles Landing Middle School Principal. We are publishing it at the end of this report. There is very little information provided by the school.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Three students at Eagles Landing Middle School in West Boca Raton took THC gummies Wednesday afternoon on the school grounds. At least two of the children — believed to be 13 years old — became so ill that they were transported by paramedics to West Boca Raton Medical Center.
It was not immediately clear how many gummies the kids took, the strength of the gummies, or where the gummies were obtained. Witnesses tell BocaNewsNow.com that police were seen with baggies, possibly containing the gummies, as the kids were being placed into an ambulance.
The Palm Beach County School District did not proactively issue a statement to BocaNewsNow.com. It was not immediately clear if the Palm Beach County School Police, PBSO, or both will be the investigating agency.
While apparently disoriented after ingesting the gummies, sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the kids are expected to make a full recovery but will likely face suspension or expulsion as part of the Palm Beach County School District’s “Zero Tolerance” policy.
UPDATE: Statement from the Eagles Landing Principal; “I am writing to share information about a medical incident that occurred on our campus earlier today. Emergency Medical Services responded to the school to assist three students, and the students were transported to a local hospital. I have remained in direct contact with the families. I know you may have questions about the incident. Student privacy laws and School District policy limit what I can share publicly. What I can tell you is that we address all student conduct matters in accordance with our Student Code of Conduct. The administration, in collaboration with School Police, is investigating this matter.
I ask every family to speak with your student about what is and what is not appropriate to bring to school. Please also check your child’s backpack regularly to help us maintain a focused learning environment.
Thank you for your continued support and for being a partner in your child’s safety.”
