BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man is facing a felony charge after Florida Highway Patrol troopers say he pointed a green laser at another driver on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County — temporarily blinding him.
Andrew Coletto, 58, of the 8800 block of SW 21st Street, was arrested after troopers linked him to a white box truck that a victim said had shined a laser through his rear windows while both vehicles traveled southbound on I-95 near Southern Boulevard. The victim, driving a gray Ford F150, told troopers the laser reflected off his rear-view mirror and into his eyes, and that the driver did it multiple times. He said he temporarily lost his sight as a result and was willing to press charges.
When troopers caught up with Coletto on the shoulder of I-95 north of Hypoluxo Road, he allegedly admitted to the incident. According to the arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Coletto told the trooper he pointed the laser — a black device with a green beam — because the other driver had passed him on the right shoulder and scared him. He said he aimed it at the front dash of the other truck to scare the driver.

Coletto was charged with one count of pointing a laser at a driver or pilot, a felony in Florida. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on March 30 with a $5,000 bond.
