BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — History Fort Lauderdale is bringing back a popular quilt exhibition series this spring, teaming up with a local textile guild to turn a historic riverfront museum into a showcase for fabric artistry and community storytelling.

The series, called “A Stitch in Time,” launches Sunday, May 3, in partnership with the Quilt Guild by the Sea. These are one-day-only pop-up displays running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., timed to coincide with the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk Jazz Brunch series. Quilts will be draped over the second-story balcony and displayed inside the New River Inn Museum — admission to the quilt exhibition is free.

“This art truly unites the community through its modern visual narratives woven with passion, preservation and family history,” said Patricia Zeiler, executive director of History Fort Lauderdale. The guild itself has grown from six founding members in 2011 to more than 125 today. Members donate quilts to organizations including Quilts of Valor, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, the Lynn Cancer Institute, and Women in Distress, and they make Comfort Bears for children’s programs in Delray Beach and Lake Worth.

History Fort Lauderdale is open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with docent-guided tours daily at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. General admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $7 for students through age 22 with a valid ID. Admission is free for members, military, and children six and under. Tickets are available at HistoryFortLauderdaleTickets.com.
