DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We’ve been so busy covering the story of Mitchell Schuman — the 62-year-old man in the G.L. Homes community of Lotus accused of assaulting a child on a bike, that we neglected to update the story of Ron Frankel, the 68-year-old man living in the G.L. Homes community of Seven Bridges who is accused of flying a teen from Iowa to his home for sex.

Ron Frankel, 68, is now officially arraigned on the federal charge of transporting a minor over state lines for sex. The Department of Justice tried Frankel on the charge several months ago, but the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Prosecutors later said they would try him again and are now making good on that pledge. Frankel was arraigned on April 3rd. He remains free pending trial.

As we reported following an FBI raid of his home last year, prosecutors say Ron Frankel knew what he was doing when he met a young girl on Tinder who seeking a “sugar daddy,” then gave her money to fly from Des Moines to PBI. The girl was 17. But attorneys for Frankel say he thought he was chatting with an 18 year old. They argue the girl should have never been on Tinder which requires users to be 18. They also say Frankel merely sent her money and that she decided — on her own — to use the money to fly to Palm Beach County for a weekend of sex in Frankel’s Seven Bridges hot tub, kitchen, and bedroom.

A member of the original jury told BocaNewsNow.com that while the alleged victim is “completely unlikable,” it’s “unfathomable” that two women on the original jury voted against conviction. He said all other members of the jury voted for conviction. A mistrial was called after two days. A trial in this latest case is expected later this year.
