
DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An apparent propane tank explosion inside the Solid Waste Authority transfer station in Delray Beach is leading to a huge fire rescue response as of mid-day Saturday.
There are no reports of injuries as firefighters battle the blaze. At one point, more than ten fire rescue units were dispatched to the scene. Some have already been cleared but the situation at 1901 SW 4th Street in Delray Beach remains active as of 1:20 p.m.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that dispatchers first received a call from an alarm company a little bit after noon. First responders discovered a working fire when they arrived minutes later.
Expect traffic issues in the area throughout the afternoon. The location is south of Linton Boulevard and West of Dixie Highway.
