BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 90-year-old Polo Club of Boca Raton resident was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run after a crash last October that left another driver injured, according to records obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.. Rhoda Prager, of Windsor Parke Drive, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail’s Main Detention Center late Friday night on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury.

The incident occurred on the night of October 8, 2025, at the intersection of N. Military Trail and Champion Boulevard. Investigators say Prager was driving a red Lexus sedan and attempted a U-turn in front of an oncoming vehicle operated by Melanie Meltzer. Meltzer, who was traveling southbound with a green signal, was unable to stop in time and the two vehicles collided. Prager then left the scene. Meltzer was transported to Delray Medical Center by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue for injuries sustained in the crash.

Responding deputies located a silver Honda Odyssey — Meltzer’s vehicle — still at the scene with fresh damage and red paint transfer on the front left corner. A Polo Club security guard told investigators he had observed a red Lexus with smoke coming from it inside the community shortly after the crash, and followed it to a residence where the driver pulled into a garage. Dashcam footage from Polo Club security, uploaded to evidence.com, corroborated the victim’s account, and damage on Prager’s vehicle was consistent with the collision.

After being read her Miranda rights, Prager told investigators she had received a pre-collision warning message in her vehicle and believed she may have struck a curb while turning. She said she did not believe she had been involved in a crash and stated that had she known, she would have stopped. Deputies took the 89-year-old into custody Friday night and booked her into jail. She remains locked up Saturday morning.
