INTERSTATE 95

Boynton Beach Boulevard Interchange — Major Traffic Shift Begins Tonight

Drivers on eastbound Boynton Beach Boulevard should be aware of a significant lane reduction and traffic pattern change beginning Sunday night, April 19, as part of the ongoing $64 million I-95/Boynton Beach Boulevard Interchange Improvements Project. Temporary barrier wall will be installed in the eastbound outside lane from just west of NW 8th Street to east of W. Industrial Avenue, reducing travel from three lanes to two through lanes in that stretch. The northbound outside turn lane on NW 8th Street at Boynton Beach Boulevard will also close, leaving just one lane for all movements. This configuration is expected to remain through late 2026.

Additionally, the I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Boynton Beach Boulevard will have temporary barrier wall placed on both sides to create a work zone for widening operations. Throughout the project, up to three lanes of I-95 in each direction may close between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights, for bridge and ramp widening. Individual I-95 ramps at Boynton Beach Boulevard may also close overnight (9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday–Thursday) for construction, with detours posted via Woolbright Road, Gateway Boulevard, and U.S. 1. Only one ramp may close at a time. One lane of Boynton Beach Boulevard itself may be closed in each direction nightly (9 p.m.–6 a.m.) through the duration of the project, with single-lane closures also permitted on Friday and Saturday nights. The project runs through early 2029. Contact: Meredith Cruz, (561) 589-9584 or mcruz@cruz-pr.com.
