Michele Miuccio Fired. Liz Roberts Acted As Chief For Weeks. Now It’s Seth Dubinsky’s Turn. Impressive Background.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We really do support the Boca Raton Police Department but it’s difficult to not see at least some humor in the revolving door that is the police chief’s office. At the rate we’re going, everyone in Boca will get to be police chief at some point soon. (We just want the lights and sirens).
For those of you catching up: longtime and highly controversial police chief Michele Miuccio was axed a few weeks ago ago by new City Manager Mark Sohaney. Crowd favorite Liz Roberts — an assistant chief — was elevated to the “Acting Police Chief” spot and many people wanted her to get the job. But Roberts decided just days into her tenure that she’d rather do something else. That “something else” hasn’t been publicly disclosed. Now, 23-year police veteran Seth Dubinsky, who has military and a lot of Boca Raton police experience is Acting Chief. He is also said to be exceptionally well-liked according to those reaching out to BocaNewsNow.com. Here’s the official announcement:
>> We would also like to announce that Seth Dubinsky will serve as Acting Police Chief as we continue the search for the department’s next permanent chief. The City Manager has confidence in Seth and his ability to lead the department through this transition.
