Boca Raton Company May Have Violated Federal Law Tuesday Afternoon.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It’s illegal to send an advertising text message without prior permission. Let’s say that again: it’s illegal under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act to send an unsolicted ad by text. That means any company that sends messages to you that you haven’t approved can be fined between $500 to $1,500 per occurrence. We imagine that’s a lot of money to a window cleaning company. So we wonder why “Boca Boys Window Cleaning” sent what appears to be a huge number of unsolicted tet messages Tuesday afternoon.

BocaNewsNow.com received the ad, as did many others reaching out through our tip lines. Their question — and ours for that matter: why would anyone think it’s okay to send ads to someone by text?

We were unable to get an answer when we tried to reach out to “Boca Boys.” But the FCC makes it easy for a company like Boca Boys to learn all about the TCPA, and how fines can quickly add up. This is what the FCC writes on its website: “FCC rules ban text messages sent to a mobile phone using an autodialer unless the phone owner previously gave consent to receive the message or the message is sent for emergency purposes. Commercial texts require written consent; for informational texts, your consent may be oral.”

If you received a message from Boca Boys and did not ask for it, you may have legal rights. Check with your lawyer, the FCC or the FTC. If you’d like to file a federal complaint against Boca Boys — or anyone who sends text messages that you did not approve — use this link.
