A man was carjacked in broad daylight in Deerfield Beach, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man was allegedly carjacked Thursday afternoon in Deerfield Beach, leading to a major operation by the Broward Sheriff’s Office. One man is now in custody. Here’s what BSO said in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com around 4 p.m. on Thursday:

“Around 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, a male subject carjacked a BMW at a gas station located at 1277 West Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to investigate. BSO’s V.I.P.E.R. (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) Unit along with BSO’s Aviation Unit located the stolen vehicle.

BSO’s V.I.P.E.R. Unit conducted a PIT maneuver on the vehicle in the area of 3400 West Sunrise Boulevard, and deputies arrested the male subject driver on scene. Lauderhill Fire Rescue transported him to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. BSO’s Robbery Unit is investigating. The arrestee has been identified as Antonio L. Dominguez, 7/20/1994. Criminal charges are pending.”
