Man Jumps From I-95 Overpass, Is Hit By Truck

A man jumped onto I-95 from an overpass Thursday morning in Delray Beach.

UPDATE at 2:14 p.m. — FDOT reports the exit ramp at Linton just reopened.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man jumped from the overpass at Linton Blvd and I-95 around 11:30 this morning. He was then hit by a tractor trailer.

While we do not routinely report suicide attempts, this situation resulted in significant traffic issues. The Linton Boulevard off-ramp is now closed as a result of the incident.

The man, who sources say is in his 60s, was found alive at the scene by paramedics from Boca Raton and Delray Beach. They all worked to aid the man. FDOT cameras showed heroic efforts by all first responders as they tried to stabilize the patient.

The man was rushed to Delray Medical Center. His condition is unknown as of 11:55 a.m. We will only update this story if information is provided by police or other first responders. If you are considering harming yourself, don’t. Call for help: 211 in Palm Beach County or 988 nationwide.
