AGAIN: Two Adults Threaten Kids Fishing And Riding E-Bikes.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach man and woman are facing felony charges after allegedly pointing a pellet gun at two juveniles who were riding electric bicycles and fishing near their property on Vista Del Rio. Craig Brownell Stephan, 63, was arrested by Boynton Beach Police and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Without Intent to Kill.
According to a probable cause affidavit reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, officers responded around to 73 Vista Del Rio after a caller reported a male and female pointing a firearm at a group of juveniles. Two boys told police they were riding e-bikes and fishing in a rear easement area when a man began yelling at them, saying — according to one juvenile — “let me grab my gun.” Shortly after, a woman in a red dress emerged from the residence holding what appeared to be a black handgun and pointed it directly at them. Both juveniles said they feared for their lives and fled.
Stephan and his wife, Barbara, both admitted to officers they retrieved a black Byrna-style pellet gun and pointed it at the juveniles. Craig told police the boys were taunting him and filming him, while Barbara said she heard them yelling at her husband. Officers recovered the pellet gun in plain view on the couple’s living room coffee table. Barbara was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Without Intent to Kill; Craig faces one count.
The incident follows the incident in Lotus (Boca Raton) where Mitchell Schuman is now charged with battery and theft after throwing a water bottle a child riding an e-bike, then allegedly taking his cell phone. It also follows an incident in Boca Raton’s Woodfield Hunt Club where a woman displayed a a gun to kids who were fishing in what she thought was her lake, only to find out it’s community property.
Both Stephan and Barbara were booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on April 24th and later released on bond.
