The New Normal: Local Spirit Workers Seek Funds Online…
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Flight attendants for Spirit — now out of work due to the airline’s shutdown as a result of two bankruptcies and soaring oil prices — are now turning to GoFundMe for help. At least three local flight attendants have taken to the platform to seek donors. Spirit is/was based in Broward County.
Mario Perez says he always wanted to be a Flight Attendant but now has no idea what he’ll do — or how to pay for life — as a result of Spirit’s shutdown.
Antonio and Nathan are also out work. They’re seeking donations so they can continue to eat while they find new jobs. They say they dealt with Spirit’s problems in 2017, but this time — clearly — is different.
