UPDATE 2:52 p.m. — A Palm Beach County School District spokesperson tells BocaNewsNow.com that the situation is resolved. No one was found. The threat was “unfounded.” Dismissal will take place as expected.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Boca Raton Police Department Tuesday afternoon says it is working with Palm Beach County School Police after someone called to say they are armed and in the area of Boca Raton Middle School.

No one has immediately been found. There are multiple officers in the area. The school is located at 1251 NW 8th Street in Boca Raton.

We have not yet heard from the Palm Beach County School District. We are approaching dismissal time and it is possible that dismissal will be delayed.

We note that threats are received by area schools with some frequency and often turn out to be nothing more than”SWATTING” calls or similar — where someone calls just to generate attention. Check back for updates.
