BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A major crash on the Palm Beach County/Broward County Line is causing massive traffic problems on the Florida Turnpike as of 4:45 p.m.
The crash, just north of the Sawgrass Expressway exit, is leading to southbound delays on the Turnpike that span for several miles. FDOT cameras show the backup nearing Atlantic Avenue — that’s several miles north of the scene.

We do not yet have specifics about the crash itself although it appears to involve a tractor trailer. The good news: tow trucks are on the scene. The bad news, traffic is reduced to just one lane as of our last check.

Our advice: get off the Florida Turnpike if you can. Head over to 441. Head south, and re-enter the Sawgrass in the Coconut Creek area. Good luck.
