A tractor trailer on its side, next the fire truck, has led to the closure of the Florida Turnpike in Palm Beach County Wednesday morning. (North is on the left, south is on the right). (FDOT).

UPDATE: The scene is clearing as of 11:45 a.m.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Florida Turnpike is completely shut northbound after a tractor trailer overturned. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue is on the scene as of 9:45 a.m.

The Florida Depart of Transportation says that all lanes northbound are closed on the approach to Okeechobee Road. Cameras monitored by BocaNewsNow.com indicate that the backup now spans for several miles. That means if you are heading to Palm Beach International Airport, you may want to take I-95. You may get there — but exceptionally slowly — if you stay on the Florida Turnpike northbound.

As you might expect, gaper delays are huge on the southbound side of the crash. We are also monitoring a backup that spans for at least a mile if not more.
