BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The luxury (and comically named) resort “The Boca Raton” is facing a lawsuit after a New York man nearly died from a severe allergic reaction while dining at its Principessa Ristorante on December 26, 2025. A complaint filed May 5 in Palm Beach County Circuit Court — and recviewed by BocaNewsNow.com — alleges that Mian Asher Husain went into anaphylactic shock after eating a pizza that contained walnuts — an allergen that was not disclosed anywhere on the menu.
Husain, who has a well-documented, severe tree-nut allergy, says he specifically warned restaurant staff about his condition before ordering. He chose the Bianco pizza after reviewing the paper menu provided by the restaurant, which the lawsuit says made no mention of walnuts as an ingredient. After eating the dish, Husain immediately went into anaphylactic shock — a potentially fatal reaction he survived only by self-administering an EpiPen. He was then rushed to Boca Regional Hospital, where physicians treated him with Dexamethasone, Famotidine, and Cetirizine to suppress the systemic immune response.
The lawsuit, filed by Boca Raton-based Lavalle, Brown, Ronan & Schwenckce, P.A., alleges The Boca Raton, LLC — which owns and operates the resort at 501 East Camino Real — breached its duty of care in multiple ways, including failing to list allergens on its menu, serving food containing a known allergen after being warned, failing to properly train staff, and creating dangerous conditions for guests with food allergies. The complaint identifies seven specific failures by the resort’s management.
Husain is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, the minimum for filing in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. “The Boca Raton” was previously known as “The Boca Resort.”
