BY: ANDREW COLTON | Editor and Publisher | BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The child e-biker who was allegedly assaulted by a man in the West Boca Raton community of Lotus was allegedly assaulted again Thursday night — this time in the neighboring community of Seven Bridges. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that it is investigating the incident that took place on the Seven Bridges tennis courts. Seven Bridges is another G.L. Homes community of million dollar houses on Lyons Road near Clint Moore.

According to information obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, the child and his friends were riding e-bikes in the area of the tennis courts — something expressly prohibited in the Seven Bridges community. But instead of calling police, a man identified as the “Captain of the Seven Bridges Tennis Team” allegedly put the child in a chokehold which resulted in the e-bike falling over and becoming damaged.

Witnesses called security who then ultimately called the the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived on the scene around 7:30 p.m.

The boy’s father, who lives in Lotus, immediately responded to the Seven Bridges tennis courts to help his son and work with police. The father acknowledged to BocaNewsNow.com Friday morning that his son likely shouldn’t have been riding in the area, but that the Seven Bridges Tennis Captain shouldn’t have assaulted his son. The police report suggests several witnesses agreed — telling the Seven Bridges Tennis Captain to stop touching the child. BocaNewsNow.com previously reported that the child’s parents live in separate homes in Lotus and Saturnia Isles — the child uses the e-bike to travel between the two.

According to police: “(The child), when asked where he was grabbed, he indicated the back of his neck. He stated he did not fall to the ground but was lifted off his e-bike. He reported his purple e-bike sustained scratches and a broken hand throttle from the altercation with the offender… The (child) recounted that he and his friends were stopped by a security guard upon entering the community and advised to be careful and avoid doing wheelies. They proceeded to the tennis court area to get water. According to the child, a man in purple and blue clothing began yelling at them. (The child) rode his bike onto the tennis court and started circling. The offender allegedly chased him, prompting (the child) to exit the court onto the sidewalk at the rear. The child stated he attempted to turn his bike around but became stuck in the bushes. The offender then allegedly ran up, grabbed (the child) by the back of the neck, lifted him slightly, and told him he could not do that. The child noted that bystanders from the other side of the court told the offender he could not touch him. The child and his friends did not record the altercation on their cellphones”

“Our deputy interviewed the offender who stated he is the captain of the tennis team and arrives early to prepare the courts. He reported observing (the child) and his friends riding e-bikes near the clubhouse. The offender stated that (the child) rode up the steps, was told he was not permitted to do so, and responded with profanity while performing a wheelie. The offender then went to the tennis courts to set up for play. According to the offender, (the child) entered court three and rode in circles, leaving tire marks on the court. The offender stated he told (the child) to leave the court and then walked to turn on the lights. While walking between courts, the offender observed (the child) riding directly toward him on the sidewalk at approximately ten miles per hour. The offender stated he put out his arm to brace for impact, making contact with (the child’s) shoulder. The bike’s wheel reportedly ran over the offenders foot.  The offender stated (the child) said, “Let me go,” to which the offender replied that he was not holding him. (The child) then rode away. The offender denied chasing (the child), grabbing him by the neck or head, lifting him off the bike, or causing him to fall, and stated he never touched (the child) at any other time during the incident.”

“After interviewing the witnesses, I spoke again with the child and (his father). I informed them that multiple independent witnesses reported (the child) was riding his bike toward the offender on the sidewalk when the offender put his hand on (the child’s) shoulder to stop him. This account differed from (the child’s) statement that he was stationary and stuck in the bushes when the offender grabbed him. When asked to clarify, (the child) maintained his version of events.”

NO CHARGES have been filed. Police are planning to review surveillance video that may have recorded the situation which seems minor compared to the child’s recent incident in Lotus. That incident, on April 3rd, has now resulted in felony charges being filed against Lotus homeowner MItchell Schuman. Schuman was seemingly caught on camera throwing a water bottle at the same child, then taking his cell phone following an e-bike incident in Lotus on April 3rd. Initially charged with a misdemeanor, Schuman is now charged with three felonies including assault and theft. Regardless of a child’s actions, it’s illegal to throw water bottles at them, or deprive them of their cellphones.

  1. This kid’s parents are the one’s who should be charged with neglecting to properly parent. His bike should be grounded for a couple of months and he should be issued a cease and desist order.

    1. A couple of questions need to be answered. 1. Is this child doing this out of spite knowing he will get away with it? 2. Parents need to be spoken to by authorities about not allowing these kids to ride bikes within these communities. 3. Formal notices sent to these kids parents by HOA and in front of the board .

  2. This kid wants attention. He got it before in the Lotus Edge incident. He has no respect for adults or property. I think he should be brought before the Juvenile Court and his parents should be required to pay for any damage occurring to the tennis courts.

  3. Father needs to be arrested for child endangerment and social services needs to be involved now allowing him to ride an illegal motor bike alone over 4 miles between homes.
This kid and the family are the problem allowing this behavior to continue.

  4. The kid is OBVIOUSLY antagonizing people and acting like a delinquent…… can adults assault him? No…… but he will certainly learn a valuable lesson if he’s held accountable for his actions too…… listen, we were all kids and we understand teenagers mentality, But we all also probably remember that there was a few kids that were constantly acting out over the top…… This kid is obviously one of them…… Send them to Juvie for a few weeks…. He won’t act so tough when he gets out of there. Can you imagine if you spent your time maintaining the tennis courts and then some idiot came out and decided to antagonize you by writing circles around what you’ve just cleaned up you’d be pissed off too. And it’s not like he’s seven he’s a teenager. And if nobody’s gonna hold him accountable, then they should hold the Parents accountable.

  5. The City Surrounded by Reality

By any means no one should touch another person without consent to include throwing things at them and/or deprive a person from their property, however it seems as if these kids on e-bikes are terrorizing communities and nothing is being addressed except for those that unfortunately interact with them. Why not charge the kid with trespassing and vandalism to the courts? Also assuming that civil law suits will follow, pretty nifty way to make some money. It seems that these kids can pretty much do as they please.

  6. So the child is asking for it? You old people/commenters ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Love to hear your comments if a 12 or 13 year old girl were to be assaulted. Would it be due to her attitude, her outfit or how she was riding an ebike? Would you still want to send her to juvenile jail or charge her parents with neglect??

    1. Well, first of all, it’s not a 12 year-old girl (And regardless of what you think, there is a big difference between boys and girls)…. Next, what do you suggest?….. that we should coddle him And tell him none of it’s his fault? old people are just mean? And what he’s asking for is probably for some good orderly direction in his life.

    2. your analogy does not make sense. this is not simply an attitude issue, an outfit issue, an e-bike issue or a gender issue. and I don’t think you would get these response if it wasn’t the same kid. “lightning rarely strikes twice”. that is the issue. something is clearly off. and the fact that he just didn’t leave when told to leave when he was informed that he was not allowed in the area. and then he allegedly acted in a reckless and hazardous manner with a heavy piece of steel that travels fast enough to hurt someone. Anyway, they will look at the cameras; more to come.

      1. Ed.Note: Whether the analogy makes sense or not, we reiterate that it is a crime in Florida (and pretty much anywhere) to physically harm a child. It doesn’t matter what the child is doing, short of committing a violent felony — which this was not. If security let the child into the community, he wasn’t trespassing. The child’s behavior may not have been child-like but it was not criminal. Once again, an adult allegedly did something that he should not have done. We will see what the video shows, if it actually captured the incident.

  7. I hope if cops are still investigating that they charge the kid. It’s for their own good and if they don’t hold these thugs and their parents accountable then adults have to get involved for their own safety. If you’re going to charge adults you’ve got to charge the kids too. I hope the Captain guy files charges

  8. This kid gives all e-bike riders a bad name. The odds are good that his reckless behavior will be transferred to the car when he’s 16, and that his parents will buy him a sports car that goes 150 miles an hour.

Of course, the adults should not have touched him, but the parents of this spoiled brat who is terrorizing the neighborhoods should have his bike taken away until he stops acting recklessly. If they don’t act now, all of us will pay the price later.

  9. That same kid rode his bike with two other kids while I was walking towards the pool and surrounded me to scare me. I am 73 years old and I thought that was terrible to do.
Few weeks ago they were at the back of the pool during my walk and he was saying antagonizing things to me. I just kept walking and hoping that they would not run me over .
I don’t know why Lotus hasn’t taken a stronger position relating these kids and the e bikes. There are a danger to older people or the nanny’s with strollers .

  10. I really feel sorry for the Tennis Captain. He was minding his own business and did not provoke anyone. E-bikes are not allowed at the clubhouse/tennis center. Clearly this kid gets a some kind of excitement from antagonizing adults with his e-bike. You would think after the Lotus incident that he would not antagonize adults. He is clearly enjoying his bad behavior and could care less about the rules at seven bridges.
I’m not at all advocating that any adult but a hand on him, and I felt bad for him after the lotus incident, but clearly this shows he loves to provoke. I don’t feel bad for him anymore. He is a troublemaker. I hope that his parents take away the e-bike.

  11. These kids on motorized vehicles will continue to find and get into trouble. I just don’t want to see anyone get hurt.
We have all seen it in many different locations including the Reserve Plaza Shopping Plaza that is quite congested even without kids doing wheelies on e bikes , yet they continue to do it.

  12. You people are all nutty hoping he gets juvie or his parents get arrested. Have any of your children done anything remotely close to breaking the law? Shoplifting? under age drinking? All criminal offenses. Have they ever mouthed off to someone? I bet half of you don’t even know what your kids are up to/how they talk to people when not around you/how they show off for their friends. I imagine it’s easy to cast judgment way up there on your high horses with your perfect children.
I’m not saying the kid isn’t wrong but wishing child services gets involved or that the kid goes to juvie is insane. Should the HOA fine his parents? Yeah IF there was a violation, if there isn’t then they learn and make new ones. Should his e-bike be taken away by his parents? Absolutely. Should you be on here trashing someone else’s parenting skills when your kids probably aren’t perfect? Nope. And to the 73yr old “anonymous” lady who was harassed by that same kid, do you know absolutely it was that child? 100%? If so file a report. If not and you’re just assuming, you know better.

  13. Parents need to take ownership and stop nurturing their Childs disrespectfulness, it will be a future problem for the kid and for his irresponsible and entitled parents. .
