Police are on the scene of a shooting in Boca Raton as of 4 p.m. Saturday.

UPDATE 5:14 p.m. — Police issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com: “Boca Raton Police are investigating a shooting that occurred along the 2000 block of NE Third Way just before 4pm. One person was transported to an area hospital with injuries.  Officers are working to determine if the parties are known to each other and what led to the shooting. This remains an active investigation.”

UPDATE 4:45 p.m. — There is a search for a gunman: “Officers searching for white male, 30s, medium build, last seen wearing a yellow construction vest, blue jeans, white long sleeve shirt, baseball cap. Call 911 if seen.”

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — At least one person was shot Saturday afternoon in a home in east Boca Raton. The house is in the 2000 block of NE Third Way.

According to initial information provided to BocaNewsNow.com, police and paramedics were called to the scene around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday. It was not immediately clear if the alleged shooter was in custody. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

We are awaiting official information from Boca Raton PD. It is not believed as of 4 p.m. that there is a search for a suspect, suggesting that the incident is contained. The home is in a residential area between North Dixie and Federal Highway. BocaNewsNow.com has learned the victim was rushed to Delray Medical Center.
