Expect Horrible Traffic Issues In Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, Lake Worth Beach, And Beyond…

Hundreds of road projects will assuredly keep you moving at a snail’s pace for at least part of your journey. With thanks to FDOT and Palm Beach County, here is our weekly look at what you can expect over the next several days in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and beyond.
I-95 & FLORIDA’S TURNPIKE (REGION-WIDE)
- I-95 at Boynton Beach Blvd Interchange: A $64 million improvement project includes widening the bridge and ramps. Traffic on Boynton Beach Blvd is shifted to two lanes in each direction through late 2026. Nightly lane closures (9 p.m.–6 a.m.) and ramp closures are expected.
- I-95 Mainline (Lantana to Congress): Two lanes closed nightly (10 p.m.–5 a.m.) for RPM replacement.
- I-95 Safety Improvements: High-friction surface installation and LED upgrades at Okeechobee Blvd, PGA Blvd, and Indiantown Rd; all ramps currently open.
- Turnpike at Boynton Beach Blvd: Interchange work is ongoing through Spring 2026.
- Turnpike at Southern Blvd: Westbound inside lane closed continuously through May 2026 for bridge widening.
- Hypoluxo Road at Turnpike: Bridge replacement has reduced Hypoluxo Rd to a single lane each way, shifted to the south side.
- Belvedere Road: Lane closures for Turnpike construction near Skees Road.
- Lantana Road at Turnpike: Periodic lane closures for Turnpike construction.
BOCA RATON / SANDALFOOT
- SW 66th Avenue: Closed south of Sandalfoot Blvd for gravity main installation; detours via US 441 and SW 18th St.
- N. Military Trail: Periodic day and nighttime lane closures from 40th St to Hillsboro Canal.
- Spanish River Blvd: Periodic lane closures from Lyons Rd to State Road 7 for resurfacing.
- S. Military Trail: Lane closures at NW 19th St for turn lane extension and north of Woolbright Rd for pole replacement.
- Clint Moore Road: Right lane closures at Military Trail, east of Congress Ave, and near SR 7 for driveway/median work.
- Sanibel Drive: Periodic lane closures from Camino Real to Boca Del Mar Drive for markings.
- Lyons Road: Southbound right lane closure at Boca Lago Blvd.
- S.W. 13th Place: Periodic closures at Sandalfoot Blvd for utility work.
DELRAY BEACH
- Atlantic Avenue Reconstruction: Major $26 million project widening SR 806 to 6 lanes. Expect daily lane closures between US 441 and the Turnpike.
- Atlantic Avenue at Homewood Blvd: Intermittent lane closures (7 a.m.–5 p.m.) for signalization through May 15.
- Lake Ida Road: Periodic lane closures from Hagen Ranch Rd to Congress Ave and west of Swinton Ave.
- S. Congress Avenue: Double nighttime lane closures south of SW 20th Terrace and south of Lowson Blvd.
- Linton Boulevard: Right lane closures at Catherine Drive and west of SW 4th Ave.
- S. Military Trail: Nightly center/right lane closures north of Via Delray.
- US 1 / Federal Highway: Southbound lane closed at SE 10th St (8 a.m.–4 p.m.) for repairs.
BOYNTON BEACH / LANTANA
- Boynton Beach Blvd (SR 804): Resurfacing from Orchid Grove to Palm Isles Dr; nightly lane closures.
- Gateway Boulevard: Multiple restrictions at S. Military Trail and west of Lansdowne Circle.
- Lantana Road: Periodic closures near the Turnpike, west of Haverhill Rd, and west of Edgecliff Ave.
- S. Congress Avenue: Right lane closures north of Golf Road, north of SW 30th Ave, and north of Miner Road.
- S. Seacrest Boulevard: Restrictions from Gateway Blvd to Miner Rd and NW 17th Ave to NE 19th Ave.
- Old Boynton Road: Traffic shifts at W. Boynton Beach Blvd and lane closures west of Lawrence Rd.
- Acme Dairy Road: Northbound right lane closure north of Boynton Beach Blvd.
WEST PALM BEACH / PALM BEACH
- US 1 (SR 5): $3.9 million resurfacing project from Belvedere Rd to Okeechobee Blvd; intermittent lane closures daily.
- Australian Avenue: Periodic closures from I-95 to Okeechobee Blvd and north of 25th Street for turn lane work.
- Okeechobee Boulevard: Intersection work at Haverhill Rd and right lane closures near Wildcat Way.
- Summit Boulevard: Restrictions near Dreher Trail, S. Military Trail, and Davis Road.
- Florida Mango Road: Traffic shifts from 10th Ave N to Forest Hill Blvd.
- SR A1A (South Ocean Blvd): One lane closed with flagging from Lake Avenue to Ibis Way and Emerald Beach Way to Royal Palm Way.
- Roebuck Road: Day and nighttime closures from Jog Rd to Haverhill Rd.
- Westgate Avenue: Traffic shifts from Seminole Blvd to Congress Ave.
NORTHERN COUNTY (GARDENS, RIVIERA, JUPITER)
- Beeline Highway (SR 710): Massive widening project (Northlake to Blue Heron). Lane reductions and traffic shifts in place through May 2026. Ramp to eastbound Northlake Blvd is closed.
- Northlake Boulevard: Major widening ongoing; periodic closures from Beeline Hwy to Hall Blvd. Restrictions also from Military Trail to 10th Street.
- US 1 / Earman River Bridge: Southbound traffic shifted to the northbound bridge through Spring 2027.
- US 1 Roadway Improvements: Outside lane closures (9 a.m.–4 p.m.) from 59th St to Northlake Blvd.
- Jupiter (Military Trail): Nightly southbound closures at Indiantown Rd and right lane closures south of Chevron Circle.
- Prosperity Farms Road: Traffic shifts and lane closures from Northlake Blvd to Honey Road and south of PGA Blvd.
- PGA Boulevard: Outside lane closures from Military Trail to RCA Blvd for force main work.
LAKE WORTH BEACH / GREENACRES / PALM SPRINGS
- 10th Avenue North: Closures from Military Trail to Sherwood Forest Blvd and near Fleming Ave.
- S. Military Trail: Nightly double lane closures south of Lake Worth Road.
- Sherwood Forest Blvd: Pavement marking and utility work from Lake Worth Rd to Forest Hill Blvd.
- Haverhill Road: Right lane closures north of Nautica Isles Blvd and near Purdy Lane.
- Kirk Road: Southbound right lane closure from Purdy Lane to Forest Hill Blvd.
- 6th Avenue South: Westbound right lane closure east of South A Street.
WESTERN COMMUNITIES (ROYAL PALM, WELLINGTON, BELLE GLADE)
- Seminole Pratt Whitney Road: Traffic shifts at 71st Place N, 75th Lane N, and 83rd Place for culvert installation.
- US 27 (EAA Reservoir): Traffic shifted east through Dec 31; speed limit reduced to 55 mph.
- SR 7 / US 441 at Lake Worth Rd: Northbound outside lane closed for earthwork.
- Southern Boulevard (SR 80) at SR 7: Bridge widening work has closed the northbound right-turn lane to eastbound SR 80.
- Belle Glade (SW Ave G): Eastbound right lane closure from SE 4th St to SE 6th St.
- Conners Highway (SR 700): Advanced notice of full closure from Hatton Hwy to US 98 starting June 2026.

- Lyons Road: Boynton Beach Blvd to Hypoluxo Rd.
- Haverhill Road: Okeechobee Blvd to 22nd Place and Caribbean Blvd to Beeline Hwy.
